In December 2008, Whistler Blackcomb will open the new Peak To Peak Gondola! This engineering feat will be a North American first and, at over 3km (almost 2 miles), it will be the longest free-span lift in the world! Strung on four towers between the Roundhouse on Whistler and the Rendezvous on Blackcomb, 28 cabins will cruise up to 415m (about 454 yards) above Fitzsimmons Creek. The cabins, each carrying up to 28 passengers, will depart every minute, and will take about 11 minutes to make the crossing.
